The European Cyclist’s Federation calls this effort from The Times in the UK a “brillant new campaign”. Across the pond it seems nearly mindblowing. Imagine if the NYTimes or the Washington Post or the Wall Street Journal put their considerable clout and resources behind an effective strategy to promote cycling safety. Instead we get some newspapers that just seem to bizarrely blame cyclists for the decline of urban civilization or at the very least, make it their own fault when they happen to get trapped beneath the wheels of a truck.
